Standard Operating Documents

The Standard Operating Document System (SODS) is to:

  1. Ensure that an established process is followed to generate all SODs.
  2. Assure the currency and relevancy of the SODs.
  3. Provide online access to the document and its history.

Quality Assurance Management System (QAMS)

The QAMS as a system is to:

  1. Establish effective and efficient processes for institutional quality assurance.
  2. Integrate these processes to improve institutional operational and strategic performances through learning.
  3. Provide a centralized repository of relevant and useful information for institutional stakeholders.
Benchmarking

Through this project QAMS will initiate, and document benchmarking efforts at AURAK.

As per Business Dictionary, Benchmarking is a measurement of the quality of an organization's policies, products, programs, strategies, etc., and their comparison with standard measurements, or similar measurements of its peers.

The objectives of benchmarking are (1) to determine what and where improvements are called for, (2) to analyze how other organizations achieve their high performance levels, and (3) to use this information to improve performance.

Enrollment Dash Board

Enrollment is one of the primary driving forces for any institution. Monitoring related Key Performance Indicators such as current enrollment, Fall to Fall Retention Rate, Fall to Spring Persistent Rate, Class Assignments to Faculty, Student Status can provide an integrated approach to take just-in-time actions by various Offices.

This has shown to improve data integrity as Registrar, IT, Provost's Office, Deans of Schools, and Program Chairs collaborative monitor and take corrective actions.

This helps institution to collect, analyze, and report data both internally and externally (i.e. CHEDS) accurately.

Annual Operational Plan (AOP) and Final Report (FR) - IE Cycle

The institutional Strategic Planning as well as Annual Operational Planning processes are automated through an online portal.

The system allows for collection of evidences and generation of multitudes of standard and customized reports.

In addition, there are several in-built feedback loops for quality assurance.

Course File

Rather than simply creating an electronic repository of course files, AURAK will strive to ensure that the updates are achieved and the information is easily available online for diverse usage to include but not to be limited to:

  1. analysis of courses and
  2. extrapolate findings towards program evaluation.
  3. revision of curriculum
  4. submission as evidence for accreditation reports (i.e. meet CAA compliance as per stipulation seven (7))
  5. incorporate steps to improve student engagement and satisfaction from survey (indirect)
  6. show during on-site visits
  7. demonstrate INSTITUTIONAL use of results from analysis of student performance
  8. access course syllabus for any course taught by any faculty (assuming full upload)
  9. show improvement where made in the quality of teaching and learning materials
  10. ensure rigor of assessment instruments
  11. facilitate peer learning (probably the most important benefit from this effort).
Faculty Credential
A simple process to document that each of the faculty member is qualified to teach each of the assigned courses.
International Accreditation
All documents related to the International Institutional and Program Accreditation will be housed here for reference and research.
Program Level & Course Level Student Learning Outcome Analysis

The Program Level Student Learning Outcomes (PLSLO) and Clourse Level Student Learning Outcomes (CLSLO) should be regularly analyzed for relevance and efficacy.

Through direct and indirect methods, a student will be able to demonstrate at the completion of the:

  1. Course, achievement of an acceptable mastery of each of the CLSLOs
  2. Program, attainment of the ability to explain and apply the corresponding PLSLOs
Direct Assessment of Student Performance (DASPA)

Aggregating data, analyzing data, demonstrating student achievement of learning outcomes from direct assessments such as examination, projects, case studies, and projects can be an arduous task.

This is an attempt to develop an institutional process as one of many plausible solutions.

Information and reports generated from this integrated effort are expected to have multipurpose dissemination to include multiple accrediting agencies.

General Education Assessment

Assessment of General Education program, which includes:

  1. Student achievement of General Education Competencies and General Education Outcomes
  2. Overall evaluation of the General Education Program

Through this project an online process is being developed to coordinate institutional efforts across all academic programs and to aggregate data for analysis pertaining to General Education at AURAK.

Curriculum Mapping

As an important step towards formulating a quality curriculum the foundational activities involve several steps, where in Curriculum Mapping is a critical one.
