As per Business Dictionary, Benchmarking is a measurement of the quality of an organization's policies, products, programs, strategies, etc., and their comparison with standard measurements, or similar measurements of its peers.
The objectives of benchmarking are (1) to determine what and where improvements are called for, (2) to analyze how other organizations achieve their high performance levels, and (3) to use this information to improve performance.
Enrollment is one of the primary driving forces for any institution. Monitoring related Key Performance Indicators such as current enrollment, Fall to Fall Retention Rate, Fall to Spring Persistent Rate, Class Assignments to Faculty, Student Status can provide an integrated approach to take just-in-time actions by various Offices.
This has shown to improve data integrity as Registrar, IT, Provost's Office, Deans of Schools, and Program Chairs collaborative monitor and take corrective actions.
